I've been invited to facilitate a webinar on Introduction to Data Collection Methods for the Atlanta Area Evaluation Association. As I've been thinking through content, I'm still struggling with the place in the presentation where I'll introduce the concepts of power, privilege, and self-awareness. Do they come before introducing qualitative methods, perhaps during the piece on ethics in data collection? Simply put, there is no comfortable or easy transition into the topic, and yet it's one we should all be mindful of as we step into the evaluation space.
